Classification of Industrial Filaments Based on Chemical Composition (Material)
(1) Polyester (PET) Industrial Filaments
Characteristics: High modulus and low shrinkage (small deformation and low shrinkage rate under high strength), good heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and extremely high cost performance.
Applications: It is the industrial filament with the largest output and the widest application. It is mainly used for industrial filtration, papermaking forming nets, spiral nets, weaving dryer nets, sludge dewatering belts, desulfurization and denitrification belts, conveyors and other industrial mesh belts, tire cord fabrics (radial tires), conveyor belts, canvas, light box advertising cloth, awning cloth, safety belts, slings, etc.

(2) Nylon (PA) Industrial Filaments
Characteristics: High strength, high wear resistance, high toughness, excellent fatigue resistance, but slightly lower modulus than polyester and higher thermal shrinkage rate.
Applications: Mainly divided into Nylon 6 and Nylon 66. Commonly used in airbags, tire cord fabrics (bias tires), industrial ropes, fishing nets, conveyor belts, ball fabrics, mountaineering ropes, etc.

(3) Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS)
Characteristics: Famous for its excellent chemical corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance.
Applications: Mainly used for high-temperature flue gas filter bags (such as waste incineration plants, coal-fired power plants).

(4) PEEK Monofilaments
Characteristics: Ultra-high temperature resistance, strong mechanical properties, acid and alkali resistance, organic solvent resistance, high-temperature steam resistance, wear resistance and self-lubrication, biocompatibility, and dimensional stability.
Applications: High-temperature engine parts, lightweight structural parts, gears, brackets, seals; artificial joints, bone plates, dental implant abutments, skull repair materials, surgical instruments; transmission case seals, brake bearings, turbine blades, motor bushings, new energy battery components; chemical pump and valve seals, semiconductor carriers, robot joints, high-temperature bearings.

(5) Aramid Industrial Filaments
Characteristics: Ultra-high strength, high modulus, high temperature resistance, and flame retardancy, making it a veritable "king of high-performance fibers". It is mainly divided into: Para-aramid: such as DuPont's Kevlar, famous for its extremely high strength and bulletproof performance; Meta-aramid: such as DuPont's Nomex, famous for its excellent heat resistance and flame retardancy.
Applications: Bulletproof vests, helmets, armored vehicle materials (para-aramid), high-temperature filter bags, fire-fighting suits, racing suits (meta-aramid), optical cable reinforcement, automotive hoses, high-performance tires, etc.
(6) Polypropylene (PP) Industrial Filaments
Characteristics: The smallest density (can float on water), good chemical resistance, low cost, but poor strength and heat resistance.
Applications: Industrial strapping, geotextiles, furniture filaments, ropes, fishing nets, etc.
(7) Carbon Fiber
Characteristics: High strength, extremely high modulus, extremely light weight, excellent thermal stability and chemical stability, but high price.
Applications: High-end aerospace, military industry, sports equipment (such as golf clubs, fishing rods, bicycle frames), wind turbine blades, automotive lightweight components, etc.
(8)Other Industrial Monofilaments
Polyimide (PI): Excellent comprehensive performance, high and low temperature resistance, flame retardancy, insulation, used in high-end protection, insulation and aerospace fields.
