2. Tensile Strength at Break

The tensile strength of PET monofilament generally ranges from 400 MPa to 700 MPa.
Application-based strength selection guidelines:

• General filter sieves: 400–500 MPa is sufficient

• Industrial filtration: ≥500 MPa recommended

• High-strength mesh belts: ≥600 MPa recommended

Higher tensile strength delivers superior pull resistance yet raises material costs accordingly.

3. Elongation at Break

Elongation at break of PET monofilament typically falls between 15% and 35%.

4. Thermal Shrinkage Rate

Thermal shrinkage is a critical index governing dimensional stability. Shrinkage data tested in boiling water for 30 minutes.

5. Melting Point & Temperature Resistance

PET monofilament has a melting point of approx. 255°C, with continuous service temperature between 120°C and 150°C.
Temperature grade recommendations:

• Ambient temperature environments: Standard PET monofilament

• Working conditions above 100°C: Modified heat-resistant PET monofilament recommended

• Working conditions above 150°C: Aramid monofilament suggested as alternative
